Additional Info: The McLaren P1 is a hybrid and runs a 3.8 litre V8 and an electric motor with a combined power output of 903bhp. The P1 has a race-inspired Instant Power Assist System (IPAS), boosting power to the front wheels via the electric motor, which gets it to 200 km/h in under 7 secs and from 0 to 300 km/h in less than 17 secs. Incidently the P1 can run solely on the electric motor for a short distance of upto 20km in city driving. Other features include a Drag Reduction System (DRS), which operates the car’s rear wing, active ride height with a RaceActive Chassis Control (RCC), carbon-ceramic brakes, a Mono Cage and carbon composite body. The car will be fully equiped for both road and track use, with E-mode/Normal/Sport/Track/Race power modes and Normal/Sport/Track/Race active chassis modes. There will be a limited run of 375 cars being built. |
