Additional Info: The original Caterham 7 Superlight R500 used the K-series Rover engine. In 2004 a bored out 2 litre K-series engine was put in the R500 Superlight Evolution, which developed 250bhp and took the R500 to 60 in 3.2 secs. The R500 then got a 2 litre Duratec engine in 2009 with 263bhp/177lbft of torque and has a 0-60 time of just 2.9 secs, 0-100 time of 7 secs and gets down the quarter mile in 11.6 secs. |
