Additional Info: Only 8 complete cars were built. ATS = Automobili Turismo e Sport SpA. The builders of the car were mostly made up of ex-employees of Ferrari and this car was designed as a direct challenge to Ferrari. It was one of the first cars to be fitted with a mid engine layout and reported to be the first Italian car built with this layout. Fuel Injection was a later option and atleast 2 cars had 300bhp 3.0 litre V8’s fitted. Race versions (250bhp 2.5 litre V8’s) were also built, but were not successful at all. |
