Optimized high-performance bestseller: dAHLer upgrades for the new M4

The powerful, visually striking BMW M models feature a sporty design and remain popular choices among petrolheads. In fact, the Munich-born models have achieved an increase in sales figures in recent years – not least through the constant expansion of the M portfolio. The latest generation of the mid-range M family is also larger and more powerful than ever before – including the recently débuted M3 Touring. The M4 Coupé and its sibling, the M3 Saloon, have long since found a home on the tuning scene. And, of course, dAHLer Competition Line could not resist developing an extensive program of customizations for these high-performance sports cars.

An essential element of the upgrades designed by owner Christoph Dahler and his Swiss team of specialists are the “powered by dAHLer” performance enhancements, all of which are developed in-house. Whether applied to the ex-works 480 hp Standard version or the 510 hp Competition variant, the stage 1 upgrade boosts an M3/M4 to more than 610 hp, with a maximum torque of 720 Nm. For customers looking for even more power, the Swiss specialists also offer a stage 2 upgrade that delivers a beefy 630 hp and 740 Nm.

There is also a choice between two “built by dAHLer” exhaust systems. One is a stainless steel system with bi-flap control, while the other is a high-performance complete system also made from stainless steel and with bi-flap control. Remote flap control is also available as an option for both systems. In addition, customers can choose from dAHLer tailpipes with a diameter of 100 or 114 millimeters. As usual, the performance upgrades listed here and the hardware components meet the requirements for WLTP Euro6d testing, with EU/CH homologation certificates for both exhaust systems. Furthermore, a sport air filter kit and a carbon air intake are available.

In terms of the chassis, dAHLer offers its “built by dAHLer” sport spring set for the rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive M3 and M4 models – Sedan, Coupé and Cabrio. There are two different variants for its spring sets: one lowers the chassis by a fixed 26 millimeters, while the other allows the driver to adjust the chassis height as desired. The «built by dAHLer» Performance and Performance Race coilover suspensions set even higher standards in terms of customization and optimization of driving dynamics. They allow the driver to adjust both the ride height and rigidity, with the Race version even allowing the rigidity to be set separately for low speeds and high speeds.

dAHLer’s lightweight CDC1 rims also contribute to enhanced driving dynamics. They are available for the M3 and M4 in a forged version measuring 10×20″ with 285/30 R20 tires on the front axle and 295/30 R20 tires on the rear, or as a conventional cast wheel measuring 9.5×21″ and 10.5×21″ with 255/30 and 305/30 tires. The CDC2 Forged, an entirely novel forged rim design from dAHLer Competition Line, will also be available from late July, measuring 9.5×21″ and 10.5×21″.

Drivers looking for even more visual customizations for their M4 or M3 can expect further bodywork options in future, with development work currently underway.
