When it comes to buying a family car there are a few things you often look for, with the top being reliability, space and comfort. One car that often springs to mind when you think of this is the Vauxhall Insignia.

A great car that comes at a great price, these have been on our roads since 2008, and have remained steadily popular. Obviously, each car has its strengths and weaknesses, but you should think about whether the great value and comfort is worth a quick depreciation value.

If you are looking for a great family car, these can be bought second-hand or new from Peter Vardy Holdings. However, with the car industry constantly being in the news of late, you’ll be glad to know that the 19 plate Vauxhall Insignia comes with a lot of new updates, which we’ve outlined for you below.

So, what are the new changes that have been introduced? Well, these include:

  • Euro 6.2 petrol engines have now been introduced
  • A new navigation system is featured in newer models
  • The new models also come complete with new alloy wheels
  • AGR seats are now standard throughout the range
  • An exclusive black pack is available on GSi
  • There’s a new wireless phone charging option for the latest iPhone model

A Little Deeper

That’s just an overview, so let’s take a look into what some of these updates actually mean.

The introduction of the new Euro 6.2 petrol engines means that each one will come complete with a Gasoline Particulate Filter. This will all be fitted as standard, and work to remove particles exhaust gases as they pass through the air.

Known as the Multimedia Navi Pro, this is a next generation navigation system. The Insignia will also become the first vehicle to have one fitted as standard. Pairing with two smartphones at a time, the new system can offer up to five drivers their own personalised profiles, which will allow them to have their own climate-control and speaker settings easily accessible, without disturbing anyone else’s. This will also help you programme your favourite destinations and playlists, and can be connected to your device vie Bluetooth, USB, Android or Apple CarPlay.

When it comes to wheels, you’ll have access to 18inch bi-colour alloy wheels throughout the entire Insignia range.

Of course, there are other updates to the car as well, such as a single tone horn and darker tinted glass, while you’ll also find optional changes too. But, if you are thinking of finding a new family car, it looks like the Insignia is still ahead of the rest.
