Additional Info: The Mk3 Ran from 1967-1971. The Mk3 got new bumpers for safety reasons, larger front brake calipers, a larger steering wheel and a wood dashboard was made available. Also a new improved soft top was made and of course a larger engine. Some Mk3's were built in 1971 along side the Mk4.

Additional Info: The Mk4 ran from 1970-1974. The Mk4 got a new rear end design, front end clean up, flared arches, new bonnet and recessed door handles. The interior now has a full length dash. A heavier car combined with a taller final drive gave a car with much less performance than it's predecessor. (some controversy over the measureing of the power output seems to exist - 63bhp vs 75bhp). An improved suspension however made for better handling. Production ran a long side the Mk3 for a while.

Additional Info: The Spitfire 1500 ran from 1974-1980. The 1493cc engine was we believe actually fitted to US cars in late 1973 and didn't get fitted to European cars until 1975. The US version was only rated at 57bhp (due to emission regulations) and had a 0-60 time of around 14-15 secs. Many minor changes throughout this models life were carried out.
