The AC Schnitzer program for the BMW X5

Almost exactly 20 years have passed since the first X5 generation from BMW conquered the automobile market. Within a short time after its introduction, the X5 has managed to manifest its position with the title “The Boss”. Basically, this title says it all: the X5 is the top dog on the road. And this will also apply to the fourth model generation, the X5 G05.

The new X5 will be even more athletic and dynamic with the AC Schnitzer special parts range, most of which is now available.

While the performance upgrades for the X5 M50i and the X5 xDrive 30d are still in the development phase, the AC Schnitzer engineers have already improved the driving dynamics of all models without air suspension with the AC Schnitzer suspension spring set. This lowers the X5 by 20 – 25 mm compared to the standard vehicle at the front and rear. The resulting lower vehicle centre of gravity enables better cornering – making the X5 even more dynamic.

The engineers achieve the next expansion stage to improve driving dynamics with the new AC Schnitzer wheel spacers. They allow the further to use of the standard wheels but at the same time ensure that the wheels are positioned 12 mm further out on each side. By widening the track width, the lateral support of the chassis is improved, which increases driving stability. The car looks much more powerful and sporty with the wheel spacers.

The handling of the new BMW X5 is even more stable with the AC Schnitzer wheel/tyre combinations in 22 inch. In various designs – as AC1 Racing Forged Rims or AC1 Light Alloy Wheels, or Type V Lightweight Forged Rims as well as Type VIII Racing Forged Wheels – a wealth of weight-optimised rims are available, which can be fitted with tyres up to 275/35 R 22 at the front and 315/30 R 22 at the rear. Of course, all AC Schnitzer rims are also available in different colour variants or even in special paintwork; there are virtually no limits to the appearance of AC Schnitzer wheel sets with regard to their individuality.

All AC Schnitzer wheel/tyre sets for the new BMW X5 are approved in Germany with a wheel arch widener that will be available shortly. This widens the body of the X5 by approx. 14 mm at the front and by approx. 26 mm at the rear axle on each side. This makes the X5 look even more powerful.

The sporty character of the BMW X5 is also underlined by the AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components: a front spoiler for vehicles with an M aerodynamic package and the roof rear wing provide more downforce and a Boss adequate appearance. AC Schnitzer bonnet vents for better ventilation of the engine compartment and protective foils for the loading edge of the rear skirt and the side skirts complete the body range together with AC Schnitzer emblems for the rear doors.

Last but not least, the inner attitude is also important for the road to success. And so the interior of the X5 by AC Schnitzer is given noble aluminium accessories: a pedal gallery and footrest, the keyholder and the “Black Line” aluminium cover for the iDrive Controller.

With all these measures, the new “The Boss”, the X5 G05 by AC Schnitzer, is certainly equipped for all challenges and it is happy to demonstrate this.
