YES stands for Young Engineers Sportscar and was founded in 2010 by Marco Kunz in Germany. However the GBRoadster was originally created by Herbert Funke, Philipp Will and design student Swiss Oliver in 1999. Funke & Will AG was formed in 2010, but due to some funding issues? filed for insolvency in 2009.
The GBRoadster was initially built with a 1.8 turbo VW engine, but then in 2006 with a 3.2 V6 Turbo engine.
Marco was the first customer to buy the 3.2 V6 version and decided to buy the brand.
