Brief History About VDS
VDS Cars was founded in 2012 in Belgium by racing driver Raphaël van der Straten, who had a dream to build his own car. Raphaël wanted to build a race car, as well as a road going versions in dedication to his grandfather, who ran a racing team from the mid 60’s (VDS Racing Team). The racing team is now run by Raphaël as VDS Racing Adventures.
In order to realise his dream, Raphael approached Tony Gillet to see if he could use the Vertigo as the base car and soon got talking to designer Charles van den Bosch on the design of the car. Much design and development work followed and the VDS GT 001 was created.
