Brief History About Panoz
Panoz was founded in 1989 in the USA by father and son, Don Panoz and Dan Panoz.
Having bought some of the liquidated assets of the Irish Thompson Motor Company which Dan had worked for, they built the Roadster followed by the AIV and Esperante and quickly got themselves a name for producing well built and powerful hand built road cars.
In 1996, Panoz bought the Road Atlanta race track, then setup the American Le Mans Series in 1999 and bought the International Motor Sports Association in 2001 and then merged the American Le Mans Series with the Rolex Sports Car Series run by the Grand American Road Racing Association in 2014.
Panoz also setup The Panoz Racing School to teach racing techniques and also started their own one make racing series.
In 2012 the Panoz Motor Sports Group was sold to NASCAR and included the race track, all the Panoz Racing Series’ and the racing school.
