Additional Info: The Mini has a long and interesting history, which is far more than I could write here, however the Cooper and Cooper S have a very successful racing history, winning such races as the Monte Carlo Rally several times in the mid 60’s. The Cooper was created by John Cooper of the Cooper Car Company and ran from 1961 to 2000. Mark 1 Mini 1959-1967, Mark 2 1967-1970, Mark 3 1970-1975, Mark 4 1976-1983, Mark 5 1984-1989, Mark 6 1990-1995, Mark 7 1996-2000. There were a large number of Mark 6 & 7 limited edition Coopers also available. The Mini is a popular car for modification and easy to work on, with an array of aftermarket parts for the enthusiast. |

Additional Info: A 50bhp carb version was available, which got to 60 in 13.4 secs, but was replaced in late 1994 with a 53bhp fuel injection system. Special editions include the John Cooper Grand Prix with an 86bhp version of the 1.3 litre engine, 0-60 in under 9 secs and 105mph top speed. Also to note was the 1989 94bhp Turbo version called the ERA with a body kit, it could also get to 60 in under 9 secs. |
