Brief History About Mastretta
Mastretta was founded in 1987 in Mexico by Daniel and Carlos Mastretta. Previously Mastretta was involved in bus engineering and they had also built two kit car models and wanted to build an all Mexican sports car.
In 2008 the Mastretta MXT shown at the British International Motor Show and again an updated version at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and 2011 Los Angeles Motor Show with actual production starting on 2012.
In mid 2014 despite further development plans for the MXT to be fitted with a Ford eco-boost engine for 2015, the finance company supporting the Mastretta company and the Mastretta brothers fell out and the brothers decided to leave the company – nothing more has come about from Mastretta since.
