Brief History About Marussia
Marussia was founded in 2007 in Russia by Nikolai Fomenko, Andrei Tsheglakov and Jefim Ostrovskiy and produced Russia’s first official supercar.
The new car company had big plans and initially did quite well in developing and selling their new supercars.
In 2010 Marrussia invested in the Virgin Racing Formula One Team and then took over in 2012, renaming it Marussia F1.
However in 2014 both the car company ceased to exist after suffering financial difficulties (probably created by the high costs involved in running in F1 motorsport). However in 2015 the F1 team was rescued by Northern Irish businessman and Ovo energy boss Stephen Fitzpatrick, who put £30million into the rescue and renamed it the ‘Manor F1 team’.
