Additional Info: Originally designed back in the mid 90’s, but due to limited funds and delays, didn’t get show cased until 2001 as a prototype with 850bhp/737lbft and a 5 speed gearbox and then finally making it to production in 2004. Various engine upgrades and changes have power ranging from 850-1200bhp (1334bhp has even been suggested as a possibility at some stage). The same Mercedes engine is used in the Pagani Zonda and many parts are taken from Porsche, including the 944’s dashboard. A revised version was due in 2009. |
