Brief History About Bricklin
Bricklin was founded in Canada with financial help from the New Brunswick government in 1974 by entrepreneur and Subaru of America founder Malcolm Bricklin.
His intention was to build a safe and economical sports car, at a tempting price. However costs of building the car exceeded his expectations and the car ended up with a price tag almost double the price he had intended to sell at in 1974 and for even more the following year. On top of that the supply for parts was slow and so production numbers were less than half what he had also envisaged. And with numerous quality issues and financial shortfalls, production ended in 1976.
