Additional Info: The Apollo GT was available as a coupe or convertible (Spyder). It uses a Buick V8 engine and an automatic gearbox was an option. Also available as a 5000 GT with a 250 bhp 4.9 litre engine, which was said to be good for 150 mph, 0-60 time in 6.8 secs and a 1/4 mile run of 14.8 secs. Note: some articles/sources show 0-60 times for some 3500 GT tested cars to have a 0-60 time between 9.7-10 secs and a considerably slower top speed. Interestingly a 3500 GT was used in the 1968 Herbie movie ‘The Love Bug’ (see last image). |
