Northern Irish number plates can be purchased quite cheaply. I remember purchasing registration XXI 3231 for my 1983 BMW 323i for just £145 + £80 transfer fee in the early 90’s. If I knew BMW where going to bring out 323i’s again, I may well have kept the number when I sold the car.

These numbers are dateless in this country and can be added to any age of vehicle. A trawl through the various number plate companies will reveal some good combinations of letters, such as:
GAZ for Gary
JIL for Jill
MBZ for the Mercedes owner
MAZ for the Mazda owner
and much much more.
And as demonstrated above, the numbers can relate to your car as well.
If you own a Camaro Z28 5.7, look out for the registration CAZ2857, it would go nice with your car.
The issuing of Northern Irish registration numbers is carried out by the DVLNI in Coleraine. There are 2 to 3 letters (which will have an I or Z in them), followed by 1-4 numbers between 1-9999.
Note: I believe Southern Irish registration numbers are not permitted to be transferred, as with the Northern Irish Number.
So if you want individuality for not much cash, have a look at what is available, you may be surprised what you can get for your money.
