  • The South Kensington-based dealer emerged as the winner above more than 200 other worldwide Ferrari dealers

  • Prize includes a 2015 Ferrari F1 car, which is on display in H.R. Owen’s Old Brompton Road showroom 

H.R. Owen Ferrari is officially the best Ferrari dealership in the world, having been named Ferrari Dealer of the Year above a hugely competitive set of more than 200 global retailers. The latest award means that H.R. Owen Ferrari is now both the biggest and the best Ferrari dealership in the world.

The London-based dealer picked up the Global Ferrari Dealer of the Year accolade at the Ferrari world dealer conference, held in Italy in November 2015. As well as the honour and recognition of being named the very best dealer of one of the world’s most famous brands, the dealership was also awarded a 2015 Ferrari F1 car as part of the prize.

Every Ferrari dealer in the world aims to give buyers and owners a high quality experience, and sets a high standard of customer care. All dealers were eligible for the closely fought and highly sought after award, but H.R. Owen Ferrari emerged as a clear winner. The dealers are rated across all areas of the business, and all are assessed using the same scorecards. It’s a stringent process that helps find the absolute best among a global network of already excellent dealerships.

Ferrari assesses each dealer on how well trained their staff are, the availability of a demonstrator of every model of Ferrari, how long servicing takes and, of course, on customer satisfaction.  H.R. Owen Ferrari scored the maximum across each category, securing it the title above dealers from locations as far-flung as Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand.

Representatives from H.R. Owen Ferrari received the award at the annual dealership conference, which took place in Florence to coincide with the World Finals of the Ferrari Challenge series from 5 to 8 November 2015. The team joined Ferrari vice chairman Piero Ferrari and Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne on the stage to receive the award.

The 2015 SF15-T Ferrari F1 car that was awarded to the winning dealer is now on display at the H.R. Owen site in Old Brompton Road in South Kensington and will remain with the dealer to do with it as it pleases. The car stopped traffic and turned heads when it was delivered, with passers by pausing to take photos of an F1 car on London’s streets.

The car is planned to remain on show in London for the time being, although it is also set to appear at staff and customer parties over the year. It is made up of genuine F1 parts, meaning it is brand new and 100 per cent correct in terms of its specification. The only thing it is missing is an engine, so it will be for static display purposes only. It is particularly special, as F1 cars are not usually released for public display for some years after they have seen racing service.

James Champion, H.R. Owen’s Ferrari brand director, hailed the dealership’s achievement, saying: “To become a Ferrari dealership in the first place requires exemplary service in all areas, so to be named the best of an already impeccable set of dealers is one of our proudest achievements to date. Because of the complex nature of the assessment process it really is a combined effort from all of our team. Everyone from the staff in the workshops, the technicians, the sales staff to the management team – everyone contributed. Many of the things we were judged on take a huge amount of effort.
