Caterham’s global dealer network has expanded once more after Caterham Group CEO, Graham Macdonald, opened the doors to a brand new Caterham Cars showroom in Taichung, Taiwan, on 17th May.
The British sportscar manufacturer also launched a 22-car one-make race series for the market to complement its new retail sales hub.
The showroom is the only dedicated Caterham Cars retailer in the country and will focus on the sale of Caterham road and race cars. Uniquely, customers will be able to test-drive the famous sportscar on the Penbay International Circuit, which is owned by the new dealer, OMA Caterham.
The Taiwanese dealership purchased 22 Caterham Superlight R300s to race in two one-make race series; the Taiwan Speed Festival (TSF) and the Options Cup (OTGP). The race series format will mirror that of the UK championship.
OMA Caterham also runs a Caterham SP/300.R racer in Class A of the national OTGP Option Cup GT Challenge where it currently holds third place in the championship.
Graham Macdonald, Caterham Group CEO, commented “It’s a pleasure to be here in Taiwan opening this fantastic showroom. It’s clear that OMA are passionate about Caterham and understand its pure sportscar heritage. Customers will experience something truly unique putting the Seven through its paces on the Penbay International Circuit – it’s the best way to showcase the car’s legendary handling.”
