Castle Combe Plays Host To JapDay (57)
JapDay 2016, a celebration of all things modified and Japanese!

A brand new event for 2016, JapDay promises to be one of the highlights of the modified car scene, a must for all fans of tuned motors from the land of the rising sun. Taking place on Saturday May 14th, JapDay will see Combe echo to the sound of bellowing 2JZs and snorting EJ20s, a display of feature cars from Banzai (the UK’s number one Japanese car mag), professional drifters driving at seemingly impossible angles, and a whole host of exciting, off-track attractions for all the family.

JapDay gives you the chance to head onto the Castle Combe circuit in your own car, so it’s the perfect opportunity to pit your pride and joy against one of the UK’s most notoriously demanding tracks. Both Novice and Standard track slots are available and both are selling very quickly indeed, so those seeking to test their metal would be advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Advance booking will also save you money, with further discounts on selected sessions available to club members. Both are just £30 if booked in advance, while £5 entitles you to an all day passenger pass.

Those seeking to experience Combe from the passenger seat will no doubt be pleased to learn that Mission Motorsport will be offering hot laps in one of their race prepared Mazdas for just £20. Or stay firmly on two feet and watch while the professional drifters from Drift Outlaws do what they do best, go very fast and very sideways! Synchro Motorsport will also be in attendance, so good news for anyone with a penchant for truly bonkers Hondas. The team have agreed to bring along a few choice cars from their fleet, including their fully paid up Civic Type R racer and their giant killing, 250bhp Jazz.

Banzai magazine, the bible for fans of tuned Japanese motors, will have a prominent presence on the day, as their stand will be home to some of the finest modified Japanese cars the UK can muster, and also the ideal opportunity to grab a copy of the latest issue. An expanded club stand area means an even greater variety of cars than ever before, and while spaces are filling up quickly, there is still time for you to get involved.

The clean freaks at Dodo Juice will be running the Show and Shine Arena, always a popular addition to the show and one which has already attracted a massive number of submissions, so anyone looking to enter would be advised to submit their car via the JapDay website without delay. The top 25 submissions will then be chosen to display in the main show paddock, all receiving Dodo Juice goody bags with further prizes and trophies on offer for the top 3. Awards will also be presented to JapDay’s Best Club and Car of the Show, with the Top 20 Show Cars taking part in a special parade of the track.

The top 25 submissions will then be selected to appear on Dodo Juice’s own stand, with the three cars judged best on the day being awarded quality trophies and prize packs. Further trophies for Best Club Stand and Car of the Show are also up for grabs.

The Castle Combe trade village will feature some of the UK’s most revered tuning firms, notably Rota/RareRims, Goodridge, HEL Performance, Kleers, Dodo and many more. A number of child-friendly attractions will be on hand for those bringing their families along, including a fantastic collection of inflatables and bouncy castles.

Club and trade stand bookings are still being taken and will be for the next few weeks, while admission tickets and rally passenger rides can also be booked in advance, saving you money in the process!

We’ll see you there on Saturday 14th May.
