A limted number of special cars from 1988 called the 1LE were built that had various options deleted and numerous performance options added making this a lighter car, generally better handling, stopping and faster car (60mph came up in low 6's with 1/4 miles of around 14.8 secs). Also in 1987 a convertible was added. 1990 was the last year for the IROC.
