Hot Rod and Custom Drive-In Day

For a fantastic day out this Father’s Day, Sunday 21st June, that all the family can enjoy, head over to Beaulieu’s Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day, one of the largest events of its kind in the south with hundreds of fantastic cars on display. But hurry, time is running out to buy your special rate Advance Saver tickets, available up to the 14th June.

A great mix of cars and bikes will be driving into the Beaulieu grounds to take part in the show, from glamorous American classics, to thrilling Hot Rods and Custom cars and motorcycles that ooze style and individuality. With the assistance of classic American car club Solent Renegades, this vibrant and fun pre-1980 display is sure to impress.

Visitors can vote for their favourite car or bike on show, with the winner receiving the Beaulieu People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Willy Dog, while prizes will also be awarded for the best Hot Rod, American, Custom car and scooter or motorcycle, along with the best vehicle in show.

The retro-themed fun doesn’t stop there. Take a stroll through the Vintage Market, created by Bows and Braces, and browse stands selling fashionable ladies and men’s clothing from yesteryear, plus jewellery, vintage homeware and quirky accessories. If you’re feeling peckish, pop into the Vintage Tea Tent for a retro experience, with sandwiches, cakes and other refreshments all made the traditional way and served on authentic vintage china.

Get on your glad rags and come along dressed in the styles of your favourite custom era, with prizes for the best dressed on the day. For the ultimate in period-perfect hair styles to match, make sure you see professional vintage hair stylist Kam Hair and Make-up (a good-value extra charge applies and this can be pre-booked).

Enjoy dancing with Jitterbug Jive and watch demonstrations by the Bournemouth Lindy Hop Club. Throughout the day there will be live music to enjoy, including rock and roll from Carmen Ghia and the Hot Rods, along with 1940s swing music from the Dotty Duo.

For participants who will be joining the event with their custom cars and bikes, advance drive-in tickets can be purchased online at, or by calling 01590 612888, at £8.00 adult and £4.00 children. One child goes free with each full paying adult participant. Camping is available free of charge for participants arriving in a custom vehicle and can be pre-booked by calling the Beaulieu Events team on 01590 614614.

The gates to the Beaulieu grounds open at 8am for participants, while the show opens at 10am for visitors.

For spectators, special rate Advance Saver tickets are available up to 14th June, while Standard Advance tickets are available from 15th to 20th June. Normal admission prices apply on the day. These special event tickets also include access to all the Beaulieu attractions, including the National Motor Museum, On Screen Cars, World of Top Gear, Palace House and Beaulieu Abbey, plus unlimited rides on the Monorail.
